The Nigeria Police Force has recorded a series of operational successes across several states, including the rescue of kidnap victims, arrest of suspected criminals and recovery of firearms and ammunition.

In Ogun State, police rescued four kidnapped students unharmed and another kidnap victim in separate operations.

The victims are receiving medical attention, while efforts continue to secure the release of remaining captives and apprehend the kidnappers.

In Jigawa State, operatives rescued an abducted child from suspected traffickers and arrested two suspects accused of conspiring to sell the child.

In a separate operation, police repelled armed hoodlums during a gun battle, neutralising one suspect and recovering a suspect vehicle and other exhibits.

Police in Ebonyi State arrested a suspect linked to an earlier abduction and suspected murder, recovering two double-barrel guns and one single-barrel gun.

In another operation, anti-kidnapping operatives raided a cult initiation meeting, arresting 37 suspected cultists and recovering two locally made pistols, three live cartridges and other cult-related exhibits.

In Ondo State, anti-kidnapping operatives arrested a suspected kidnapper during a bush-combing operation.

According to police, the suspect confessed to involvement in kidnapping activities and identified other members of the gang.

Security operatives in Sokoto State intercepted suspected gun runners heading towards a forest along the Niger Republic border, arresting two suspects and recovering 870 rounds of 7.62×39mm live ammunition and a vehicle.

In Nasarawa State, police arrested a suspect allegedly linked to the illegal movement of 251 rounds of AK-47 ammunition, while a separate joint operation with local vigilantes led to the arrest of another suspect and the recovery of a Beretta pistol, a magazine and seven rounds of live ammunition.

In Imo State, police raided a suspected terrorist hideout, arrested six suspects, dismantled what they described as a criminal shrine and recovered charms believed to have been used for criminal activities.

Meanwhile, in Osun State, police arrested a suspect in connection with the fatal assault of a victim following a confrontation.

The suspect remains in custody while receiving medical treatment.

The police said investigations are ongoing in all the cases, while efforts continue to arrest fleeing suspects and dismantle criminal networks across the affected states.
