Police intercept adulterated drinks in Delta, arrest 44-year-old driver

Operatives of the Delta State Police Command’s Anti-Kidnapping Unit in Warri have intercepted a Toyota Sienna conveying quantities of “Gbefun Hot Drink” suspected to be adulterated.
The operatives, during a stop-and-search operation along the Warri-Agbarho Expressway, arrested the 44-year-old driver of the vehicle on August 17, 2026.
Delta State Police Public Relations Officer, SP Bright Edafe, disclosed this in a statement sent to DAILY POST correspondent in Warri.
He said, “Further investigation led operatives to a warehouse at Lower Ginuwa, Warri, where additional quantities of the suspected adulterated drink, other beverages and a Suzuki Shuttle bus loaded with similar products were recovered.
“The suspected operators fled on sighting the police.”
Edafe noted that “efforts are ongoing to apprehend them and unravel the source and distribution network.”
Meanwhile, Delta State Commissioner of Police, CP Yemi Oyeniyi, commended the operatives and directed that the investigations be pursued diligently to apprehend all suspects connected with the cases.
He urged members of the public to continue supporting the police with credible and timely information.
