The Osun State governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Bola Oyebamiji, has welcomed the endorsement of his candidacy by members of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the state led by former Governor Olagunsoye Oyinlola.
Oyebamiji disclosed this in a post on his X handle on Sunday, describing the endorsement as a sign of growing support for his campaign ahead of the August 15 governorship election.
He said the support reflected a shared belief that Osun needed a new direction anchored on justice, fairness, inclusion and development across the state.
“I am deeply honoured by the decision of members of the PDP in Osun State, led by former Governor Prince Olagunsoye Oyinlola, to endorse my candidacy for Governor of Osun State,” Oyebamiji said.
He said his administration, if elected, would move the state beyond what he described as “one-sided politics and uneven development,” promising equal opportunities for residents irrespective of political affiliation, senatorial district, religion or community.
“Government must belong to everyone, regardless of political affiliation, senatorial district, religion or community. Every citizen deserves to feel the impact of government and every part of Osun deserves a fair opportunity to grow,” he said.
Oyebamiji said he received the endorsement with humility and a strong sense of responsibility, adding that the support would strengthen his resolve to promote unity and inclusive governance.
“Together, we can end the politics of division and build an Osun where justice is upheld, opportunities are created and development is felt across the board,” he said.
He urged voters to support his candidacy as he seeks to defeat the incumbent governor, Ademola Adeleke, in the August 15 election.
“The time for a new direction is now. Together, we will rebuild Osun and give our people the government they truly deserve,” Oyebamiji added.
