Cross River State Governor, Senator Bassey Edet Otu, has expressed confidence that APC National Chairman, Prof. Nentawe Yilwatda, will lead the party to greater electoral success in the 2027 general elections.
Otu, in a message marking Yilwatda’s 58th birthday, said the APC chairman’s experience in academia, electoral administration, public service and politics had positioned him to strengthen the party at a critical period.
The governor commended Yilwatda for promoting unity within the APC, saying cohesive leadership was necessary to consolidate the party’s structures, deepen its grassroots presence and expand its political base nationwide.
“I am confident that Prof. Nentawe Yilwatda will continue to deploy his experience and political ingenuity to build a stronger and more united APC capable of achieving greater electoral success,” Otu said.
He said the party’s focus should now be on strengthening its structures ahead of the 2027 elections and expanding its electoral frontiers.
“As we look towards 2027, I am confident that a united, focused and determined APC will consolidate its achievements, expand its electoral frontiers and renew the confidence of Nigerians in our party,” the governor said.
Otu also wished Yilwatda continued strength and wisdom in leading the party, while expressing confidence in his ability to deliver on the APC’s political objectives.
The message was signed by the governor’s Chief of Staff, Emmanuel Ironbar.
