OsunDecides2026: Voting Begins at 8:30am in Ikire Polling Unit as Party Agents Insist on Monitoring BVAS
Voting commenced at exactly 8:30 am at Ward 009, Polling Unit 004, in Ikire, Irewole Local Government Area of Osun State. Voting commenced at exactly 8:30 am at Ward 009, Polling Unit 004, in Ikire, Irewole Local Government Area of Osun State.
The exercise began peacefully, with the Bimodal Voter Accreditation System (BVAS) functioning properly at the polling unit.
Party agents were initially asked to leave the polling area after casting their votes, but they declined and insisted on remaining at the polling unit to monitor the voting process.
The agents also demanded access to the BVAS machine, saying they wanted to observe the accreditation process and guard against possible manipulation.
Voting continued as voters were accredited and allowed to cast their ballots.
Security personnel were also present at the polling unit to maintain order as the exercise got underway.
The polling unit is one of the several locations being monitored by TVC News Online in Ikire as voters participate in Saturday’s Osun State governorship election
