Osun APC Candidate Oyebamiji Seeks Cleric’s Prayers, Support Ahead of Governorship Election

The All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate for the 2026 Osun State governorship election, Bola Oyebamiji, has sought the prayers, counsel and support of Islamic leaders as he intensifies consultations ahead of the poll.
Oyebamiji made this known in a statement posted on his X handle on Tuesday, August 11, after visiting Sheikh Daood Imran Molaasan, the Grand Mufti of Yorubaland and National President of Jama’at Ta’awunil Muslimeen in Iwo, Osun State.
The APC candidate described Molaasan as a respected Islamic scholar, saying the visit was part of his engagement with religious and community leaders ahead of the election.
Oyebamiji said the meeting provided an opportunity to seek the cleric’s prayers and guidance towards his ambition of building a peaceful and prosperous state.

“The visit was an opportunity to seek his prayers, counsel and support as we continue our journey towards building a prosperous, peaceful and united Osun State,” he said.
He also expressed appreciation for the cleric’s willingness to support his campaign, saying he was grateful for the readiness of the religious body to mobilise in his favour.
Oyebamiji said he would continue engaging traditional, religious and community leaders across the state as the 2026 governorship election approaches.
“As we approach the 2026 governorship election, I remain deeply committed to engaging our traditional, religious and community leaders, whose wisdom, prayers and guidance are invaluable to the progress of our dear state,” he said.
The former Commissioner for Finance also thanked Molaasan for his reception, counsel and prayers.
“I sincerely appreciate Sheikh Daood Imran Molaasan for his warm reception, fatherly counsel and prayers,” Oyebamiji said.
He prayed for the Islamic scholar to be granted wisdom, strength and long life to continue serving humanity and society.
Oyebamiji expressed optimism that unity and collective effort would help achieve his vision for the state.
“With faith, unity and collective purpose, we shall build the Osun we all desire,” he added
