Katsina State Governor, Dikko Umar Radda, has described Nigerian Air Force (NAF) aircraft as one of the “most feared weapons” among terrorists and bandits operating across the North-West.

Radda made the remarks on Thursday, August 20, 2026, when the Chief of Operations, NAF, Air Vice Marshal PN Amadi, paid an operational visit to the Air Component of Operation Fansan Yamma (OPFY) Sector 2 in Katsina.

According to a statement posted on the NAF’s X handle on Saturday, the governor commended the Air Force for its sustained operations and sacrifices in the fight against insecurity across the region.

Radda said the NAF had demonstrated its ability to project force into difficult and inaccessible locations being exploited by terrorists and other criminal elements.

The governor also pledged the continued support of the Katsina State Government for ongoing air and ground operations aimed at tackling insecurity in the state.

During the visit, Amadi reaffirmed the NAF’s commitment to intensifying air operations against terrorists, bandits and other criminal groups across Katsina and the wider North-West.

He stressed the importance of collaboration between the military, other security agencies, government authorities and local communities in efforts to restore lasting peace and security in the region.

The visit, according to the NAF, also reinforced the strategic priorities of the Chief of the Air Staff, Air Marshal Sunday Kelvin Aneke, particularly the welfare, readiness and effectiveness of personnel deployed to the frontline.

The Service said it remained committed to sustaining “decisive airpower effects” aimed at degrading criminal networks and denying terrorists and bandits the freedom to operate.

Amadi was accompanied during the visit by the Chief of Civil-Military Relations, Air Vice Marshal EK Gabkwet.

They were received by the Air Component Commander, OPFY Sector 2, Air Commodore CE Illoh.
