N-Power Beneficiaries Write VDM, Seek Intervention Over Unpaid Stipends

The National Association of N-Power Beneficiaries has appealed to social commentator,Martins Vincent Otse, popularly known as VeryDarkMan (VDM), to intervene in the prolonged non-payment of outstanding stipends owed to thousands of former N-Power Batch C beneficiaries.

In a letter dated August 10, 2026, and signed by the association’s National Chairman, Abdulraman Maifada, the beneficiaries requested an audience with VDM to discuss what they described as the plight of former participants of the N-Power scheme.

The association said it was acting on behalf of 495,731 N-Power Batch C beneficiaries, who participated in the programme between October 4, 2022, and September 2023, but were allegedly yet to receive their full entitlements.

According to the association, while some beneficiaries received stipends for periods beyond the stipulated 12 months, many others allegedly received payments for only part of their service period, while some reportedly received no stipend at all.

The beneficiaries said the situation had subjected thousands of young Nigerians to severe financial hardship despite having fulfilled their responsibilities under the government programme.

They appealed to VDM to use his platform to amplify their demand and draw the attention of the Federal Government and relevant authorities to the outstanding payments.

“We humbly seek your support in lending your voice to our cause and helping amplify our appeal for the Federal Government to urgently pay our 9–12 months outstanding stipends,” the letter stated.

The association said a meeting with VDM would enable its representatives to present further details of the alleged outstanding payments and explain how his advocacy could help bring the matter before the appropriate authorities.

The N-Power beneficiaries expressed hope that VDM would grant their request and assist them in seeking resolution of the long-standing payment dispute.

The letter was also signed by Kehinde James, Secretary, and Bashir Ladan, Adviser, of the National Association of N-Power Beneficiaries.
