Fintiri Orders Demolition of Dilapidated Doctors’ Quarters at Yola Specialist Hospital

Adamawa State Governor, Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri, has ordered the demolition of the dilapidated doctors’ quarters at the Specialist Hospital Yola to pave the way for the construction of 48 modern residential units for medical personnel.

Fintiri disclosed this in a statement posted on his X handle on Tuesday after inspecting the doctors’ quarters at the hospital.

The governor said the new residential units would accommodate doctors, house officers and other healthcare workers as part of efforts to improve their working conditions.

“Today, I inspected the doctors’ quarters at Specialist Hospital Yola and directed the demolition of the dilapidated structures to make way for 48 modern residential units for doctors, house officers and other healthcare workers,” Fintiri said.

He said the project formed part of his administration’s plan to reposition the hospital as a teaching hospital while improving the conditions under which medical professionals serve residents of the state.

“This investment is part of our plan to reposition the hospital as a teaching hospital and improve the conditions under which our medical professionals serve our people,” he said.

According to the governor, construction of the new residential facilities will commence shortly and is expected to be completed within seven to eight months.
