Cynthia Morgan Calls Out VeryDarkMan Over P-Square Feud

Nigerian singer Cynthia Morgan has taken a swipe at social media activist VeryDarkMan over his involvement in the long-running feud between music duo P-Square and their elder brother, Jude Okoye.

Morgan criticised the activist in a series of posts shared on her Instagram Story, questioning his approach to the family dispute and accusing him of failing to confront singer Peter Okoye despite previously positioning himself as someone capable of resolving the crisis.

Her comments came as VeryDarkMan has now announced his withdrawal from the highly publicised P-Square family dispute following mounting criticism over his involvement.

According to a report by The Trumpet Newspaper, VDM made the announcement on Monday after coming under fire for publicly defending Jude Okoye and commenting on allegations raised by Peter Okoye against his twin brother, Paul Okoye, and Jude.

The controversy intensified after Peter presented evidence concerning the long-running dispute, with several Nigerian and international celebrities subsequently expressing support for him.

Liberian actor Frank Artus was also reported to have criticised VDM’s involvement and urged him to stay away from the Okoye family matter.

However, VDM maintained that his position was based on his assessment of the arguments presented by the parties involved.

According to The Trumpet Newspaper, VDM said that after listening to Peter and Jude, he did not believe the blame for the crisis could be placed entirely on one person.

He reportedly said: “Personally, after listening to Jude and Peter, if you ask me who to put the blame on, I will say I will put 40 percent of the blame on Jude, and I put 30 percent of the blame on Peter, and another 30 percent on the wife, the family and everybody.”

VDM also defended his right to express an opinion on the matter despite the backlash and insults he received from critics.

“And to the people insulting me, it is not a crime. You can insult people. Now there’s balance in views in the P-Square matter,” he said, according to the report.

But while VDM has now opted out of the family drama, Cynthia Morgan has questioned whether his intervention could have achieved a different outcome if he had confronted the people involved rather than allegedly backing away.

In one of her messages, Morgan challenged VDM’s claim that he discovered Peter had allegedly not been truthful with him after speaking to other parties involved in the dispute.

According to the singer, instead of confronting Peter and seeking clarification, VDM allegedly began avoiding him.

She wrote: “The false fearless man claims he found out Peter was lying to him after he spoke to the other parties involved and then you decided to start avoiding him.”

Morgan then questioned whether VeryDarkMan had genuinely been committed to resolving the P-Square crisis.

“My question is are you even a man of resolution?” she asked, arguing that he had allowed an opportunity to settle what she described as “the biggest quarrel in Afrobeats” to slip away.

She added that VDM should not be proud of how he handled the situation.

In another post, Morgan appeared to mock the activist’s confidence while recalling that she had previously advised him to pursue education privately so he could channel his confidence into something productive.

“I told you to go to school in private so you can turn your false confidence to something productive but you don’t listen. You see how you’re feeling yourself in public?” she wrote.

The singer’s comments have now added another twist to the already heated P-Square controversy, coming shortly after VDM announced that he would no longer participate in the family dispute.

While VDM has blamed the crisis on multiple parties—including Jude, Peter, family members and others—Morgan’s criticism suggests that she believes his intervention represented a missed opportunity to bring the estranged parties closer.

The development also raises fresh questions about the role of social media personalities and outsiders in celebrity family disputes.

For VDM, his decision to withdraw means the P-Square saga is no longer an issue he intends to publicly mediate, as he said he would instead focus on preparing to appear before a police panel over his allegations against AIG Jimoh Moshood.

Meanwhile, the feud involving Peter, Paul and Jude Okoye continues to attract intense public attention, with different accounts of the dispute emerging and celebrities, entertainers and social media users taking sides.

With VDM now stepping away and Cynthia Morgan publicly questioning how he handled the matter, the P-Square family drama appears far from over.
