The National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress, Professor Nentawe Yilwatda, has commended members of the PDP “Rainbow” group and other political parties for openly rallying support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s 2027 re-election bid.
The commendation comes days after the Taraba State governorship candidate and member of the group, Emmanuel Bwacha, publicly declared his support for President Tinubu.
The group is associated with the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike.
Speaking to journalists shortly after a church service held to mark his 58th birthday, Professor Yilwatda expressed confidence that President Tinubu would support the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, to conduct free, fair and credible elections in the 2027 general elections.
He said President Tinubu, as a democrat, would not interfere with the electoral process to favour any individual or political party, citing the APC’s loss in the Anambra State governorship election and other elections to opposition parties.

The APC National Chairman called on Nigerians to work towards national unity and support the Federal Government in its efforts to take the country to greater heights.
