16-year-old arrested after teen dies from alleged stone attack in Gombe

A 16-year-old boy, Abbas Musa, has been arrested by the Gombe State Police Command after another teenager, Salisu Abdullahi, died following an alleged stone attack during a disagreement in Nafada Local Government Area of the state.
According to security analyst Zagazola Makama, the incident occurred at about 5:30pm in Gudukku District, where Abbas and 16-year-old Salisu reportedly had a misunderstanding.
During the disagreement, Abbas allegedly struck Salisu on the head with a stone, leaving him seriously injured.
Police detectives later visited the scene and rushed the injured teenager to Gudukku Primary Health Care Centre for medical attention.
“Salisu was, however, pronounced dead by a medical practitioner,” Makama reported.
The police subsequently arrested Abbas, who is currently assisting with the investigation.
Makama said the command is expected to establish the circumstances surrounding the altercation and determine the appropriate legal action, taking into account the ages of both teenagers.
