“We’re single and available, please toast us” – Lady cries out over shortage of serious suitors

A Nigerian lady has sparked reactions online after expressing frustration over what she described as the growing shortage of men willing to pursue serious relationships.

In a viral video shared on X (formerly Twitter), she questioned why many men no longer seem interested in asking women out, saying many single women are stuck in endless talking stages that never lead to committed relationships.

In her words in Yoruba, she said:

“You men don’t want to get married again. Who exactly do you want to leave us for? At this point, I’m tired and confused. We that are single are very much available. Please, toast us.”

The lady said she had promised herself not to speak about the issue, but could no longer keep quiet because of how heartbreaking the situation had become.

According to her, since the beginning of the year, she has moved from one talking stage to another without any progressing into a real relationship.

“Since January, it’s been one talking stage to another as if one is cursed. It never goes beyond that stage. We don’t even have boyfriends anymore. Please, who exactly do you want to leave us for? Start toasting us before it gets to the extent that we start dragging you on the road,” she added.

Her emotional outburst has sparked debate online, with some women agreeing with her experience, while others argued that dating priorities have changed for both men and women.

The video has continued to generate conversations about modern dating and why many singles believe finding genuine love has become increasingly difficult.
