Broadcast journalist and aspiring NDC parliamentary candidate for Gomoa West, Captain Smart, has alleged that the sitting MP, the District Chief Executive (DCE), and some constituency executives recently held a secret meeting to frustrate his ongoing development projects in the area.
According to Captain Smart, the officials claim his rapid pace of development is “damaging their image,” insisting such projects should have been rolled out gradually rather than all at once.
He further alleged that the group has resolved to rope in NDC leaders to obstruct his efforts, but declared defiantly that nothing will deter him from continuing his work in the constituency.
Despite the alleged pushback, Captain Smart revealed he has acquired block-making machines and that Gomoa West will soon have its own block factory, which he says will support ongoing infrastructure projects and boost community development.
The claims add to months of visible development activity from the media personality in the constituency, including sod-cuttings for CHPS compounds, classroom blocks, a DVLA office, and a mechanised boreholes project, all carried out ahead of NDC parliamentary primaries.
It remains unclear whether the MP, DCE, or named constituency executives will respond publicly to the allegations, as none have yet issued a statement on the matter.
