Kylian Mbappé’s Records At FIFA World Cup After France’s Win Over Morocco
Kylian Mbappé added another remarkable chapter to his World Cup legacy after inspiring France to a 2-0 win over Morocco in Thursday’s quarter-final, sealing a place in the last four of the 2026 tournament.
NEWSNGR reports that the France captain broke the deadlock in the 59th minute before Ousmane Dembélé doubled the advantage, as Didier Deschamps’ side marched into the semi-finals.
Mbappé’s goal carried historic significance. It made him the first player to score 12 goals in FIFA World Cup knockout matches, extending a record he had already set earlier in the tournament. The strike also took him to 20 World Cup goals, drawing level with Lionel Messi as the competition’s joint-leading scorer.
France will now face the winner of Friday’s quarter-final between Spain and Belgium for a place in the 2026 FIFA World Cup final.
