Governor Fintiri Disburses N5m Each To Families Of Victims
The Governor of Adamawa State, Ahmadu Fintiri, has presented financial assistance to families and dependants of those who lost their lives during the Lamurde crisis in the state.
The cheques were presented on Monday in Lamurde to the next of kin of the deceased, with the governor represented by the Ddeputy Governor, Kaletapwa Farauta.
Each beneficiary received ₦5,000,000 as support from the state government to help cushion the impact of the tragedy
Speaking at the presentation, Farauta said the intervention fulfilled a promise earlier made by the governor during a visit to the affected community.
“At the time we lost some women, the governor visited the area and made financial promises to the victims’ families, which we are presenting today,” she said.

She added that the government also distributed food and non-food items to further support affected households.
Farauta used the occasion to call for peace in Lamurde Local Government Area, warning that continued unrest would hinder development and displace residents.
“There is nothing as good as living in peace with one another. Unless we learn to live in peace, development will not prevail,” she said, noting that some residents had been forced to take refuge in schools due to the crisis.
She urged community members to exercise patience and embrace peaceful coexistence.
The crisis in Lamurde Local Government Area, part of the broader Lamurde crisis, has displaced several residents and disrupted normal activities in the area.
Speaking on behalf of the beneficiaries, Mr. Safety Moses, expressed appreciation to the state government, saying the assistance would help restore hope and improve livelihoods after the loss of loved ones.
In addition to the cash support, the government distributed relief materials including maize, rice, wrappers, children’s clothing, mats, and mattresses to affected families.
