Preparations are in full swing at Gomoa Mpota in the Central Region ahead of the final funeral rites of Apostle Prof. Emeritus Ing. Kwadwo Safo Kantanka, with family members, traditional leaders, and well-wishers putting the finishing touches to what is shaping up to be a truly befitting send-off.

Videos from the venue show rows of red canopies stretching across the grounds, elegant seating arrangements, and specially designed artificial turf laid out in green and yellow patterns to complete the elaborate setup.

The scale of the decor reflects the stature of the late industrialist and Kristo Asafo Mission founder, whose legacy in automobile manufacturing, technology, and innovation earned him a place among Ghana’s most celebrated figures.

The funeral, scheduled for July 30 at the Kantanka Automobile Manufacturing Centre in Gomoa Mpota, is expected to draw thousands of mourners from across Ghana and beyond, including political leaders, traditional rulers, religious groups, diplomats, and admirers of the man widely credited with building Africa’s first indigenously manufactured car brand.

The preparations come even as legal uncertainty continues to swirl around the event, following a High Court injunction filed by rival family members disputing the arrangements, a dispute that has done little to slow down the scale of what’s being assembled on the ground.
