The Command’s Public Relations Officer, DSC Nyako Amidu Baba, disclosed this during a press briefing with journalists in Yola.

According to him, the children were discovered crying helplessly in the middle of the night after they were allegedly left behind by their mother. A concerned resident raised the alarm, prompting NSCDC personnel to intervene and rescue the minors.

Nyako said the children have since been taken into protective custody and are receiving adequate care while investigations continue to identify and trace their parents.

He noted that preliminary reports suggest the children’s mother may have abandoned them due to her inability to cater for their welfare, although investigations are ongoing to ascertain the circumstances surrounding the incident.

The NSCDC spokesperson further stated that the State Commandant, Commandant Idris D. Bande, has directed officers to intensify efforts to locate the parents and facilitate the children’s reunification with their families.

Commandant Bande also used the opportunity to urge residents of Adamawa State to remain vigilant and monitor activities within their communities. He called on members of the public to promptly report suspicious movements and criminal activities to security agencies to help prevent crime and enhance public safety.
