My Wife Is My Last Resort When Things Get Tough – Deyemi Okanlawon
Nollywood actor, Deyemi Okanlawon, has shared details about how he handles pressure and where he gets emotional support when life becomes difficult.
He explained in an interview with Dear Ife that his wife is the first person he thinks about when things become too heavy for him, but he tries not to disturb her often because she is busy with her own work and also takes care of their home and family responsibilities.
The actor added that in rare moments when the stress becomes too much, he wakes her up at night to talk and get comfort.
NEWSNGR reports that Okanlawon also said he does not depend only on his wife.
He revealed that he has built a support circle that includes a therapist, mentors, and close friends he can talk to when he needs guidance or relief.
According to him, men should not carry all their problems alone because it can become too much for one person to handle.
He said, “When the thing is just too hard, there’s my wife. She’s not the first because she’s dealing with her own business and raising the family. But when it’s hitting me too hard, I’ll wake her in the middle of the night and tell her to help me.”
“My job is to protect the people around me. If gbege happens here now, the chances are I’m going to step in front. It’s what needs to happen. There’s no excuse, You also have to be aware enough to find healing”.
