Lady confesses struggle to leave relationship with married man, says she feels trapped

Lady shares a deeply personal account of her ongoing relationship with a married man, admitting that despite feelings of guilt and repeated attempts to leave, she has been unable to end the affair.

According to her, the relationship began after the man allegedly told her that he and his wife were heading for a divorce.

However, she later discovered that the marriage was still intact and described the man’s wife as a kind and respectful person.

The woman said meeting the wife in person left her feeling ashamed, particularly after hearing about the couple’s history, their family, and the impact the situation could have on their children.

She revealed that she initially ended the relationship but eventually reconciled with the man after he repeatedly pleaded with her to stay.

Despite acknowledging the emotional toll the situation has taken on everyone involved, she admitted that she remains attached to him and struggles to walk away.

The woman said she often feels conflicted because the relationship brings her happiness while simultaneously leaving her burdened by guilt.

She also expressed sympathy for the man’s wife and stated that her continued involvement is not driven by malice toward her.

“Ifeeeee this is mee. I need to go to rehab if there’s one for people like me. I think I’m possessed or this man has used something on me. I’m Mpasa my friends have talked and prayed but I feel stuck. I’m currently dating a married man that told me earlier that him and his wife are getting a divorce. This was 3 years ago only for me to find out a year into the relationship that the wife is a sweet soul.

I had never dated a married man before then but the love this man shows me is something I’ve never had before. I confronted him, he begged me and said he loves me and we should continue until I find my own man. I agreed I don’t even know why.

His wife came to my work place to see me I was so scared and shocked. How did she enter, she’s friends with my ED. She sat with me in my office, told me how she met her husband, how they hustled together to have their wealth today, how close he is with his children and if they know about me, they’ll lose respect for their dad.

I cried that day because I felt ashamed. I ended it with him but he barged into my house in anger and from anger to begging and that’s how I slipped back.

The wife has called me up to 4 times since then and I have stopped picking her calls because of shame. I tell myself I’m single and looking for a relationship but almost everyone in Lagos knows I’m dating this man. Where do I go from here? Ife I swear I’ve tried to leave but now I’ve given up.

Maybe this is my fate to be a second wife. Maybe I need prayers from the community please. I want to let go. The crazy part is this man is not a womaniser, our love just keeps getting tighter and I feel more ashamed but I can’t cut him off. He makes me happy and I am sad for myself that I am doing this to the wife.
