Gombe 2027: Gov Yahaya Presents APC Guber Candidate Gwamna to Tinubu

Governor Muhammadu Yahaya has officially presented the All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship candidate for the 2027 election in Gombe State, Jamilu Gwamna, to President Bola Tinubu at the Presidential Villa in Abuja.

The presentation took place shortly after Gwamna emerged as the APC flagbearer following what the party described as a decisive victory in its governorship primary ahead of the 2027 polls.

President Tinubu congratulated Gwamna on his emergence and commended Governor Yahaya for what he described as exemplary leadership and efforts in strengthening the APC in Gombe State.

According to a statement issued on Sunday by the Director-General of Press Affairs at the Gombe Government House, Ismaila Misilli, the President expressed confidence in the party’s leadership in the state and its capacity to sustain developmental progress.

Tinubu was quoted as saying he was optimistic that the party would continue to build on its achievements and maintain the political stability associated with Gombe State under the Renewed Hope Agenda.

The President also praised Yahaya for his visionary leadership and commitment to consolidating the party’s structures in the state.

Speaking at the meeting, Governor Yahaya commended Tinubu for providing what he described as purposeful leadership that has strengthened unity, cohesion and progressive governance across the country.

He also thanked the President for his support to Gombe State, particularly in infrastructure development, economic growth and policies aimed at promoting sustainable development.

Yahaya said the presentation of Gwamna to the President reflected the party’s commitment to unity and continuity in governance.

“Presenting Dr Jamilu Gwamna to Mr President is not only symbolic of party unity and continuity, but also a demonstration of the APC’s preparedness to consolidate on the gains recorded in Gombe State over the years,” he said.

The introduction of Gwamna to the President is seen as a key step in the APC’s early preparations for the 2027 governorship election in Gombe State, as the ruling party seeks to retain control of the state after Yahaya completes his tenure.
