Aye Cult Members Arrested – The Trumpet Newspaper Nigeria
The Lagos State Police Command has uncovered an alleged cult network following the arrest of five suspected members of the Aye Confraternity during an intelligence-led operation in the state.
Key Highlights:
- Lagos Police arrested five suspected members of the Aye Confraternity.
- The suspects were intercepted during a stop-and-search operation near Ago/Festac Bridge.
- Police recovered weapons, suspected hard drugs, military camouflage, and about 500 SIM cards.
- Three additional suspects were arrested following further investigations.
- Police say the operation is part of ongoing efforts to combat cultism and violent crime.
The suspects were arrested along the Ago/Festac Bridge axis after police officers conducting a stop-and-search operation intercepted a Toyota Camry XLE saloon car occupied by two men, identified as Emmanuel John, and David Godwin.
A search conducted on the suspects and the vehicle reportedly led to the recovery of substances suspected to be hard drugs.
During preliminary questioning, the two suspects allegedly confessed to being members of the Aye Confraternity.
Police investigations later led to the arrest of three other suspected members of the group — Samuel Owubokiri, Adetona Seyi, and David Chigozie.
