I don’t need to remind you of gravity of office oath – Namadi tells Acting Grand Khadi

Jigawa State Governor, Malam Umar A. Namadi, has urged the newly appointed Acting Grand Khadi of the state, Khadi Umar Namadi, to uphold the responsibilities of his office in accordance with the teachings of the Holy Qur’an and Sunnah of Prophet Muhammad (SAW).
The governor gave the charge on Friday during the swearing-in ceremony of the Acting Grand Khadi at the Government House, Dutse.
Namadi, who presided over the ceremony shortly after returning from Saudi Arabia, where he performed the lesser Hajj alongside President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, said the appointment was based on the appointee’s track record, integrity and contributions to the administration of Shari’a law in the state.
He described the new Acting Grand Khadi as a humble and trustworthy individual whose record of service earned him the responsibility.
“Your appointment is based on your good records and contributions to Shari’a law and the state in general,” the governor said.
Namadi reminded the Acting Grand Khadi of the seriousness of the oath he had taken, stressing that the responsibilities attached to the office were clearly outlined in the Holy Qur’an and the Sunnah of Prophet Muhammad (SAW).
“You have just taken the oath of office. I don’t need to remind you of its gravity because you know the responsibilities according to the Holy Qur’an and the Sunnah of Prophet Muhammad (SAW),” he said.
The governor also urged him to demonstrate effective leadership, promote teamwork and work towards improving the administration of the Shari’a court system in the state.
He prayed for Allah SWT to guide him in the discharge of his responsibilities.
His appointment however following the suspension of the Grand Kadi of the Jigawa State Sharia Court of Appeal, Mohammed Sani Salihu, for one year without pay by the National Judicial Council (NJC).
This followed allegations that he overstepped his authority by interfering in the reopening of a case already decided by an Upper Area Court in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Abuja.
