UCL: That’s on the manager – Bruno Fernandes blames Carrick for Como defeat

Manchester United captain, Bruno Fernandes has claimed manager, Michael Carrick’s tactical plan is to blame for their 4-1 defeat to Como in the Champions League on Wednesday night.
Nico Paz scored a brilliant brace for the Serie A team, while Anastasios Douvikas and Jacobo Ramon also got on the scoresheet.
Joshua Zirkzee’s late goal merely reduced the deficit for the Premier League side.
After the game, Fernandes was asked about the team’s display and he revealed the instruction they received from Carrick and his coaches.
“It’s a decision from the staff to not press man-to-man and sometimes leave a little space in behind. To wait for them, to give them the ball,” Fernandes said.
“That’s on the manager and on the staff to see it, it’s not on me.”
United have now failed to win their last seven fixtures in all competitions under Carrick.
