Tinubu, Obi Don’t Have Solutions To Nigeria’s Problems – Atiku’s Camp

The African Democratic Congress (ADC) Presidential Campaign Council (PCC) has declared that all other presidential candidates in the 2027 race including President Bola Tinubu and Peter Obi, lack clear solutions to Nigeria’s problems.
This was as the council said only its flag-bearer, former vice-president Atiku Abubakar, has the experience and policy proposals needed to address the country’s economic challenges.
Director of Media and Publicity of the ADC-PCC, Kola Ologbondiyan, stated this in Abuja at the weekend while receiving the leadership of the Grassroots Mobilization Network (GMN), led by its National Coordinator, Sadiq Abubakar Adamu Lwafu.
Ologbondiyan described Atiku as a Pan-Nigerian leader whose political relationships and leadership approach transcend ethnic, religious and regional boundaries.
He argued that the former vice-president was better positioned to unite the country and restore economic stability.
The visit came as the GMN announced plans to embark on a nationwide mobilisation campaign to rally support for Atiku ahead of the January 16, 2027 presidential election.
Lwafu criticised the Tinubu administration over the rising economic hardship, worsening insecurity and what he described as the abuse of democratic institutions.
He accused the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) of neglecting the welfare of ordinary Nigerians while concentrating on retaining political power.
“President Tinubu’s administration has made life so difficult for Nigerians. The hardship is too much. Nigerians are now living in fear of insecurity. It appears that governance has collapsed, as a group of greedy politicians have ganged up against the poor, and democracy has been abused and replaced with an authoritarian regime,” Lwafu said.
He warned that Nigeria risked following the path of other African countries where democratic institutions had weakened and political power had become increasingly concentrated.
Lwafu said the organisation was determined to ensure the defeat of the APC through the ballot box in 2027, describing Atiku as the candidate capable of rescuing the country.
He also praised the ADC, citing its national chairman, David Mark, alongside political figures including Rotimi Amaechi, Rauf Aregbesola, Aminu Tambuwal, Emeka Ihedioha, Dele Momodu and Dino Melaye as evidence of the party’s political strength.
Responding, Ologbondiyan accused Tinubu of promoting sectional interests through his appointments, policies and approach to governance.
“In the last three years, Tinubu has shown clannishness in governance. His appointments, his policies, his body language—everything screams sectionalism and exclusion,” he said.
He contrasted Tinubu’s administration with Atiku’s political outlook, arguing that the former vice-president had maintained relationships across Nigeria’s ethnic and religious groups.
“Atiku Abubakar, on the other hand, is a natural Nigerian devoid of ethnic, religious or sectional inclination. He is a leader for all tribes and regions,” Ologbondiyan added.
The ADC-PCC spokesman further accused the APC of exploiting the country’s ethnic and religious differences to advance its political interests rather than promote national unity.
He expressed confidence that Nigerians would reject what he described as the ruling party’s divisive political strategies in the next general election.
“No government in the history of our country has ever used divisive means to hold on to power more than the APC. But Nigerians are wiser now and ready to kick them out through the ballot,” Ologbondiyan said.
On the economy, he maintained that Atiku had a clearer plan for recovery than other presidential contenders. He cited the former vice-president’s proposed approach to fuel subsidy as part of the measures he said would ease the burden on vulnerable Nigerians and stimulate production.
“Atiku is going to bring back subsidy in a transparent and well-managed manner that will directly benefit the poor and stimulate production,” he said.
Ologbondiyan also argued that other candidates had failed to provide clear positions on fuel subsidy and other major economic challenges facing the country.
He insisted that Atiku’s experience, record and policy proposals made him the most suitable candidate to address Nigeria’s current difficulties.
