Heated Exchange Follows Questions on Nigeria’s Economic Hardship and President Tinubu’s Kaduna Rally Remarks

A heated exchange occurred during a live television programme between Arise News anchor Rufai Oseni and the All Progressives Congress (APC) National Publicity Secretary, Felix Morka, over President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s remarks at a rally in Kaduna and the state of Nigeria’s economy.

According to a report by Daily Post, the disagreement began when Oseni questioned Morka about the economic situation under the Tinubu administration.

In response, Morka defended the President’s remarks, arguing that the Kaduna rally was not a policy summit or dialogue where Tinubu was expected to deliver an extensive policy address.

Morka maintained that the President’s objective at the rally was to seek renewed support from the people. He also criticised what he described as “opposition tribesmen dressed as journalists.”

However, Oseni insisted that Morka had not addressed his central question about the economic hardship facing Nigerians.

During the exchange, the Arise News anchor challenged the APC spokesman to respond directly to the question rather than focus on defending the President’s rally remarks.

“You are yet to answer my question about the current state of Nigeria’s economy. Respond whenever you are ready to answer,” Oseni told Morka.

The disagreement highlights the ongoing public debate over the Tinubu administration’s economic policies, the impact of its reforms on Nigerians and the government’s response to concerns about the cost of living.
