One confirmed dead after deadly violence in Abuja hotel

The Federal Capital Territory, FCT, Police Command has confirmed the death of a hotel staff member, Joseph Terdoo, following a violent confrontation at the facility.
The Police Public Relations Officer, PPRO, Josephine Adeh, disclosed this in a statement issued on Sunday, explaining that the Utako Divisional Police Headquarters received a distress call on October 20 over unusual noise and activities on the third floor of a hotel in Utako District.
She said operatives of the command responded swiftly to the call and traced the noise to Room 301, where Samuel Net, a tiler hired by the hotel, was found with marks of violence on his body.
According to the PPRO, Terdoo, a staff member of the hotel, was also found lying unconscious on the floor with multiple marks of violence on his body.
“Further investigations revealed that the two men had a disagreement which degenerated into a physical confrontation. Samuel pushed Joseph, who fell and hit his head on a wooden object before collapsing,” Adeh said.
Reacting to the incident, the Commissioner of Police, FCT Police Command, CP Ahmed Muhammed Sanusi, advised residents of the territory to shun violence and self-help when resolving disagreements.
