UCL: Mbappe reacts to PSG winning back-to-back titles after his exit

Real Madrid forward Kylian Mbappe has addressed assertions that Paris Saint-Germain won the UEFA Champions League title back-to-back following his departure from the club.

The striker is gearing up for Real Madrid’s first Champions League match of the season against Serie A champions Inter Milan.

Mbappe joined manager Jose Mourinho for pre-match press obligations prior to the Champions League clash at the Bernabeu.

When questioned about PSG’s achievements after his exit, the French player said that it is one perspective, but he declined to elaborate further.

“Well, I think it’s just another analysis. In the end, talking about myself sells a lot, and I accept that. It’s fine. But it’s just another analysis,” he said.

PSG made extensive efforts to prevent Kylian Mbappe from joining Real Madrid over the years, but ultimately succumbed in the summer of 2024, as the forward departed as a free agent.

This transfer signified the beginning of a new chapter at the club under Luis Enrique, who introduced several promising young talents into the attacking lineup.

Since then, they have clinched the Champions League title in consecutive seasons under the Spanish coach, becoming the first team to achieve this feat since Real Madrid’s three consecutive victories from 2016 to 2018.

Mbappe has not experienced much success in terms of trophies at the Bernabeu, as he has yet to secure a significant accolade since his arrival in Spain. The contrasting fortunes of both clubs have subjected Mbappe to considerable criticism since the previous year.
