Trump asks followers to vote on new name for AI

President Donald Trump has asked his followers to vote on whether artificial intelligence should be given a new name.
Trump made the proposal in a post on X on Saturday, suggesting three alternatives to “Artificial Intelligence” — Superior Intelligence, Extreme Intelligence and Supreme Intelligence.
He argued that the term “Artificial Intelligence” was not an accurate or elegant description of the technology.
“Many people think that the words ‘Artificial Intelligence’ are inaccurate, and very ineloquent, relative to AI, or Artificial Intelligence.
“A far more elegant and accurate description of this new phenomena would be Superior Intelligence (SI) or, Extreme Intelligence (EI) or, Supreme Intelligence (SI),” he wrote.
Trump then asked users to vote on which name was best for what he described as an “ever growing ‘Revolution.’”
The poll gives users the choice between Superior Intelligence, Extreme Intelligence and Supreme Intelligence.
Trump has frequently spoken about artificial intelligence and its growing role in technology, business and government.
In a separate post on Truth Social on Saturday, Trump announced plans to establish an “AI Force” and appoint an artificial intelligence “Czar” as his administration seeks to accelerate the development of the technology in the United States.
Trump said the new initiative would be modelled on the Space Force, which he said had been established during his first term.
Trump lashed out at critics of AI and said he would not allow efforts to undermine the AI industry, writing, “And I, as President of the United States, will not stand by and let this happen.
“We will not in any way hinder or stifle the Growth of this incredible Industry. Rather, we will cherish it, help it, and watch over it, as it grows,” he wrote.
