Nollywood actress Temitope Osoba, who died in August at the age of 40, will be laid to rest on Thursday, September 10, 2026, in Iperu Remo, Ogun State.

The actress’ family announced the new burial date in an obituary shared on her Instagram page on Monday.

According to the funeral arrangements, Osoba’s remains will leave the Ogun State University Teaching Hospital, Sagamu, at 9am on Thursday.

The burial service will follow between 10am and 11am at Akesan Club, opposite Iperu Morning Market, Iperu Remo.

She will subsequently be interred at the Iperu Remo Cemetery, immediately after the service. The family also specified white as the dress code for the ceremony.

Osoba, also known as Tope Osoba, was a Yoruba-language actress and producer who spent nearly two decades in Nollywood. She was known for her appearances in productions including Oogun Mi.

Before her death, Osoba had publicly spoken about her battle with breast cancer and sought financial support for treatment and surgery.

In August 2025, she announced that she had recovered and was returning to acting, describing the period as one of healing, rebranding and empowerment.

However, details surrounding her death have remained controversial, with conflicting accounts from her fiancé and members of her family.

Her fiancé, Prophet Itunu Onadeko, alleged that Osoba died after she was taken to a police station in Ikorodu, Lagos. Members of her family reportedly gave a different account of her final moments.

The conflicting narratives prompted calls for an investigation into the circumstances surrounding her death. Filmmaker and actor, Yomi Fabiyi also called for an investigation and autopsy to establish what happened.

Following the controversy, Osoba’s family warned the public and media against spreading unverified information about her death, urging people to rely on statements released through the family’s official channels.

Her burial was originally scheduled for August 13 but was postponed indefinitely.

The family has now confirmed Thursday, September 10, as the date the late actress will finally be laid to rest.
