Some Chowdeck Riders Earn N100,000 Weekly, CEO Reveals

The amount delivery riders can make from working with Chowdeck has sparked fresh debate after the company’s CEO, Femi Aluko, revealed that some riders earn an average of N100,000 every week.

Aluko made the disclosure during an interview with Channels, where he explained that riders’ earnings depend largely on how many deliveries they complete and the distance they cover.

According to the Chowdeck chief executive officer, riders are paid based on kilometres travelled, meaning those who complete more deliveries and cover longer distances have the potential to earn more.

“Chowdeck riders earn an average of N100,000 per week while staying fit. The best ones make much higher than that,” Aluko said.

His claim means the stated average could translate to roughly N400,000 in a four-week month, a figure that is likely to surprise many Nigerians, particularly given that some of the riders use bicycles to make deliveries.

The interviewer appeared surprised by the disclosure and asked Aluko to confirm whether riders using bicycles could actually make N100,000 weekly.

Aluko confirmed the figure but pointed out that the earnings should not be viewed as pure profit because riders also incur expenses while doing the job.

He specifically mentioned the cost of maintaining the bicycles used for deliveries.
