Police Arrest Suspected Cultist, Recover Rubber Pistol, Axe, ‘Ice’ In Ikorodu

Operatives of the Lagos State Police Command have arrested a 36-year-old suspected cultist, Muyideen Olatunbosun, during an intelligence-led anti-crime patrol in Ikorodu.
The suspect was arrested around the Idi-Iroko, Ogolonto and Agric areas of Ikorodu after police operatives received intelligence about suspected criminal activities in the area.
According to the Police Public Relations Officer, SP Abimbola Adebesi, a search of the suspect led to the recovery of a rubber-made pistol, an axe, criminal charms and an illicit drug popularly known as “Ice”.
The police said Olatunbosun is currently in custody and assisting investigators, while efforts are underway to arrest other members of the alleged cult group.
The Commissioner of Police, Lagos State Command, CP Tijani Fatai, commended the operatives for their vigilance and prompt response to credible information.
The command said it would sustain intelligence-led operations against cultism and other forms of criminality across Lagos State.
It also urged residents to continue providing timely and credible information to the police through its emergency lines.
