LASEPA seals eight establishments across Lagos over environmental violations

The Lagos State Environmental Protection Agency, LASEPA, has sealed eight establishments across several parts of Lagos over persistent violations of environmental regulations.

The affected facilities are located in Baruwa-Ipaja, Mushin, Maryland, Anthony Village, Anthony and Gbagada.

LASEPA said in a statement that the enforcement exercise was carried out on Monday, September 7, 2026, in line with the Lagos State Government’s directive to ensure compliance with environmental laws, protect public health and promote a cleaner, healthier and safer environment for residents.

According to the agency, the affected establishments were found to have violated several environmental regulations and failed to take the required corrective steps or comply with directives issued by the agency.

Among the affected establishments was Hollysee Hotel Suites, located on Adebowale Close, off Fatade Road, Baruwa-Ipaja, which was sealed over noise pollution.

All Samod Global & Event Centre, located on Ago Owu Street, Kayode Onipanu, near Toll Gate Bus Stop in Mushin, was also shut for noise pollution and failure to comply with the agency’s directives.

Hotel Tropicana Ltd, located on Ajose Street, Mende, Maryland, was sealed for non-compliance with LASEPA’s directives.

Optimum Lounge, located on Adesoye Street, Mende, Maryland, was also sealed for failing to comply with the agency’s directives.

Sylvalink Hotel, located on Kunle Adebowale Street in Anthony, was shut over non-compliance with LASEPA’s directives.

Other establishments affected by the enforcement exercise include Print Factory, located on Faramobi Ajike Street in Anthony Village, and Queen India, located on Sylvia Crescent, also in Anthony Village.

Both establishments were sealed for non-compliance with the agency’s directives.

Ivory Exclusive Hotel, located on Hospital Road in Gbagada, was equally sealed for non-compliance with LASEPA’s directives.

Speaking on the enforcement operation, the General Manager of LASEPA, Dr Babatunde Ajayi, reaffirmed the agency’s commitment to protecting public health and preserving the environment through sustained monitoring, regulatory compliance and the enforcement of environmental standards across Lagos State.

“LASEPA would continue to intensify enforcement actions against individuals, businesses, religious organisations and corporate bodies whose activities constitute risks to the environment, public health and the wellbeing of Lagos residents,” Ajayi said.

He called on business owners, facility operators, religious organisations, scrap dealers and residents across the state to adopt environmentally responsible practices, secure the required permits and approvals, fully comply with environmental regulations and support LASEPA’s efforts to create a cleaner, healthier and more sustainable Lagos.

The agency further explained that its enforcement actions are not meant to disrupt legitimate businesses but to ensure that all establishments operate responsibly and comply with environmental laws and standards in the interest of Lagos residents.
