“I started casting out demons when I was 17” — Gov. Monday Okpebholo

Edo State Governor Monday Okpebholo has recalled his teenage years when he said he began casting out demons, while speaking about efforts to tackle insecurity and cultism.

Okpebholo made the remark during a church gathering, according to a viral video shared online.

Speaking at the event, the governor said his experience with confronting what he described as spiritual forces dated back to his youth.

“When I see young ones standing in the presence of God, I remember at 17, 18, I’ve also started casting out demons. So fighting insecurity and most especially cultism is not a new thing to me, It’s something that has been happening.”

The video has generated reactions on social media, with users expressing different views about the governor’s comments and his appearance at the church gathering.
