Hit-and-run driver allegedly kills fresh first-class graduate working as dispatch rider in ogun

Friends and associates have been thrown into mourning following the death of a fresh first-class graduate of the Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta (FUNAAB), identified as Mayowa, popularly known as Mayorwhiz.

Mayowa, who had reportedly graduated with first-class honours, was said to have been working as a dispatch rider in Ogun State while trying to make a living after completing his studies.

According to reports circulating online, the deceased was riding a Qlink dispatch motorcycle when he was involved in a fatal collision with a red Lexus ES 350 around the MKO Abiola Sports Arena in the Kuto area of Abeokuta on Saturday, September 12, 2026.

A road accident report shared online stated that the crash occurred at about 3:45 p.m. along the inbound Kuto underpass.

Mayowa was reportedly presumed dead at the scene of the accident, while his remains were subsequently conveyed to a general hospital in an FRSC van.

The report further alleged that two male occupants of the Lexus fled the scene following the collision.

News of Mayowa’s death has reportedly left friends, colleagues and associates mourning the young graduate, particularly as he had recently completed his university education and was said to have taken up dispatch riding as he pursued his livelihood.

The circumstances surrounding the crash and the identities or whereabouts of the two occupants who allegedly fled the scene remain unclear.
