7 Things To Know About JAMB-WAEC’s New One-Off O’Level Result Verification

Candidates seeking admission into Nigerian tertiary institutions will now have a new system for verifying their WAEC results….
Candidates seeking admission into Nigerian tertiary institutions will now have a new system for verifying their WAEC results.
Here are the key things to know:
1. Verification starts September 1, 2026
The new JAMB-WAEC one-off verification arrangement takes effect from September 1, 2026 and applies to relevant admission processes regulated by JAMB.
2. Candidates will verify their WAEC result only once
Under the new system, candidates will be required to verify their WASSCE O’Level results once through the designated JAMB Verification Service.
3. The verification fee is ₦4,000
Candidates will pay a one-off ₦4,000 fee through the approved JAMB verification platform.
4. No need to pay institutions for the same verification
Candidates who have successfully verified their WAEC results through JAMB should not be charged another fee by tertiary institutions to verify the same result for the same admission process.
5. Verified results will be shared with institutions
Once a result has been successfully verified, JAMB will make the verification outcome available to the relevant tertiary institution for admission screening, processing and other approved purposes.
6. Candidates should use only the approved platform
Candidates have been advised to access the designated JAMB Verification Service, provide the required WASSCE details, make payment through the approved channel and submit the result for verification.
They should not pay individual officials, tertiary institutions or third parties for the same verification service.
7. Keep your payment and verification details
Candidates should retain their payment confirmation and verification details after completing the process in case they are needed for reference.
The new arrangement is intended to reduce costs, eliminate repeated verification exercises and make the tertiary admission process easier and more transparent for candidates.
