The Zamfara State Adolescent Girls Initiative for Learning and Empowerment (AGILE) Project has held a strategic review meeting with construction supervision consultants as preparations intensify for the building of 42 new junior and senior secondary schools across the state’s 14 local government areas.
The meeting, chaired by the project’s Component Lead, Ibrahim Ahmed Nahuche, reviewed the consultants’ preparedness to oversee the implementation of the school construction programme under the AGILE Project.
Two firms, Mega Projects Nigeria Limited and Chediya Ventures, have been engaged to supervise the five construction lots covering all 14 local government areas.
The consultants presented assessments of contractors’ work schedules, site-specific Bills of Quantities, Environmental and Social Management Plans, Security Management Plans and findings from site verification visits.
“The review has provided the consultants with the technical, environmental, social and security information required to commence effective supervision of the project,” Nahuche said.
He urged the consultants to adhere strictly to approved specifications, quality standards and project timelines.
“You must discharge your responsibilities with professionalism, diligence and integrity to ensure the successful execution of the project across all benefiting communities,” he said.

The AGILE Project said the initiative reflects Governor Dauda Lawal’s commitment to improving educational infrastructure and expanding access to quality secondary education, particularly for adolescent girls.
Project Coordinator Sa’adatu Abdu Gusau called on contractors, consultants, host communities and government agencies to work together to ensure the successful delivery of the schools.
“Collaborative efforts remain critical to achieving increased enrolment, improved retention and successful completion of secondary school education, especially for adolescent girls in Zamfara State,” she said.
The AGILE Project said the new schools are expected to provide safer and more conducive learning environments while supporting efforts to improve educational outcomes and socio-economic development in the State.
