Nollywood veterans Yinka Quadri and Jide Kosoko have arrived in Ilaro, Ogun State, for the burial of their late colleague and Yoruba film icon, Taiwo Hassan, popularly known as Ogogo.
A video circulating on social media on Monday showed the two veteran actors arriving in the Ogun State town as family, friends, colleagues and other well-wishers gathered to pay their final respects to the deceased.
TVC News had earlier reported that Kosoko announced Ogogo’s death on Sunday, saying the actor died at about 3:00 p.m. at the age of 66. Kosoko also disclosed that the actor’s remains would be taken to his hometown, Ilaro, ahead of the burial ceremony scheduled for Today.
The development came shortly after Ogogo’s daughter, Kira Taiwo, announced her father’s death in an emotional video shared on social media on Sunday. The announcement followed days of public concern over the actor’s health after his family disclosed that he was battling stage-four cancer.

Ogogo was one of the most recognisable figures in the Yoruba film industry, with a career spanning more than four decades. His death has drawn tributes from colleagues, fans and political leaders, including Ogun State Governor Dapo Abiodun, who described his passing as a loss to the state’s cultural and creative community.
