Tennis icons Serena Williams and Venus Williams are set for a highly anticipated reunion after receiving a wildcard entry into the women’s doubles event at the 2026 Cincinnati Open, marking their first tournament together in nearly four years.

The legendary sisters will return to the court at the WTA 1000 Cincinnati Open, scheduled for August 11 to 23 in Ohio. It will be their first doubles appearance since the 2022 US Open, when they last played together before Serena stepped away from professional tennis.

The reunion was originally expected at Wimbledon in July but was postponed after Serena Williams, 44, suffered a knee injury during her comeback singles match against Australia’s Maya Joint.

The Cincinnati Open now provides Serena with another opportunity to build momentum ahead of the 2026 US Open, where she is widely expected to compete.

Serena remains just one Grand Slam singles title away from matching the all-time record of 24 major singles championships, currently shared by Margaret Court and Novak Djokovic.
