Former Senate President Bukola Saraki has congratulated Governor Ademola Adeleke on his re-election as Governor of Osun State.
Saraki, in a post on his official X page on Sunday, described Adeleke as his “dear brother and friend” and said the people of Osun State had clearly expressed their decision at the polls.
“I congratulate my dear brother and friend, Governor Ademola Adeleke, on his re-election as Governor of Osun State,” Saraki said.
He said the governor’s re-election represented a strong vote of confidence from the people, who had four years to assess his performance and compare his promises with his achievements.
“The people of Osun have spoken, and they have spoken clearly. They have had four years to judge the record of his stewardship, to weigh the promises against the performance, and they have asked him to continue,” he said.
Saraki also commended Osun voters for turning out to participate in the election and remaining vigilant in protecting their votes.

He said elections where the will of the people is freely expressed, accurately counted and respected remain important to strengthening Nigeria’s democracy.
“At a time when there are legitimate concerns about the strength and credibility of our democratic institutions, every election in which the will of the people is freely expressed, faithfully counted and ultimately respected is an important victory for our democracy,” he said.
Saraki said Adeleke would begin his second term with both the benefit and responsibility of a renewed mandate from the electorate.
He wished the governor well and urged him to use his second term to consolidate his achievements and improve the state.
“I trust that he will use the next four years to deepen the work already begun, justify the confidence of the people of Osun, and leave behind a stronger and more prosperous state,” Saraki said.
