Popular Nigerian dancer and socialite, Iweh Pascal Odinaka, popularly known as Poco Lee, is due to appear before Snaresbrook Crown Court in London on assault charges.
The court confirmed the development in correspondence with PUNCH Online on Tuesday, stating that the case is listed for plea and trial preparation on September 15, 2026.
The court’s Admin Team Lead, James Baker, said the hearing would be open to members of the public but that the precise time and courtroom would only be made available a day before the proceedings.
The confirmation followed an inquiry by PUNCH Online regarding an alleged sexual assault involving the socialite.
Earlier, the founder of the Community of Nigerians in the United Kingdom, Benjamin Kuti, popularly known as Oluomo of Derby, said Poco Lee was currently on remand in a UK prison and was expected to appear in court in September.
Kuti said he was familiar with the development through his regular attendance at court proceedings and his support for Nigerians facing legal matters in the UK.
He said the September hearing would ordinarily involve the accused entering a guilty or not-guilty plea.
The court’s confirmation did not provide details of the specific allegations against Poco Lee beyond confirming that the case is listed for plea and trial preparation.
Poco Lee’s appearance before the court means the matter will now proceed through the UK criminal justice system, where the allegations against him will be determined through due process.
