The All Progressives Congress governorship candidate in the Osun State election, Bola Oyebamiji, has called on his supporters and residents to remain calm as the collation of results begins across the state.
Oyebamiji in a Statement on his X formerly Twitter handle @OyebamijiBola thanked Osun residents for turning out in large numbers to exercise their civic responsibility and cast their votes.
“We have come a very long way, and today, I am deeply encouraged that our collective efforts are yielding results,” he said.
He also commended the security agencies and the Independent National Electoral Commission for what he described as their professionalism and commitment to their duties during the election.
As results begin to emerge, the APC candidate urged his supporters to remain “calm, vigilant and resolute”.
Oyebamiji called on them to protect the integrity of the votes cast at polling units and ensure that the outcome reflects the will of the electorate.
“Do not allow anyone, under any guise or through any means, to subvert the will of the people or undermine the mandate they have freely chosen to give us in today’s election,” he said.
He urged supporters to remain peaceful and watchful while awaiting the final outcome of the election.
“We have come too far to allow our collective efforts to be compromised,” Oyebamiji said.
He concluded by expressing confidence in the process and calling for the will of the people to prevail as INEC proceeds with the collation of results.
