Former Senator Shehu Sani has described the political dynamics surrounding the ongoing Osun State governorship election as heavily tilted against the incumbent Governor, Ademola Adeleke.
Sani in a cryptic post on his verified X formerly Twitter handle @sheusani observed that prominent figures of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) had converged on Osun State for the election, while major opposition figures were reportedly absent from the state.

“All the big shots of the ruling party are in the state the governorship election is taking place,” Sani said.
According to him, the situation has left Adeleke largely to fight his electoral battle without the same level of high-profile political backing.
“The big shots of the opposition are somewhere else, leaving the incumbent Governor to battle for his life,” he added.
Sani used a wildlife analogy to illustrate what he described as the political pressure surrounding the incumbent governor.
“That’s how a zebra is surrounded by a pride of lions in the National Geographic Channel,” he said.
The comments come as counting and sorting of ballots begin at some polling units across Osun State following the conclusion of voting in those locations.
The election is widely seen as a close contest between Adeleke and the All Progressives Congress candidate, Bola Oyebamiji, with African Democratic Congress candidate Najeem Salaam also seeking to emerge as a significant force.
The outcome is expected to provide an early indication of the strength of the major political parties ahead of the 2027 general elections.
