Access to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) office in Osogbo, Osun State, has been restricted as military personnel and police tighten security around the premises.

TVC News Online observed that military personnel were requesting identification cards from people seeking to gain access to the INEC office.

Regular citizens were not allowed into the premises without identification, while motorcyclists were also seen being turned away from the front of the commission’s office and the area opposite it.

TVC News Online also observed that the youths who had earlier gathered around the INEC office were no longer visible, as security personnel maintained a heavy presence around the area.

The development follows reports that some Osogbo residents had earlier gathered around the INEC office to protect their votes after Saturday’s Osun State governorship election.

The heightened security comes as collation of results from the governorship election is about to begin.

Meanwhile, collation of results from the 2026 Osun State governorship election is yet to commence at the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) office in Osogbo.

TVC News Online reports that while the venue appears set for the state collation of results, electoral officials were not yet seated.
