According to Iniedu, the Police Female Squadron has also been deployed to the headquarters of the Independent National Electoral Commission in Osogbo to provide additional security during the election.
He added that two standby PMF units had been stationed at the Osun State Police Command headquarters to enable the police respond swiftly to any security emergency that may arise.
Iniedu reiterated the commitment of the police and other security agencies to remain neutral throughout the electoral process, assuring political parties, candidates and voters of professional and impartial conduct.
The police spokesman also disclosed that no arrest had been made in connection with the killing of the nephew of former House of Representatives member, Wole Oke.
Providing an update on the distribution of election materials, Iniedu said the police had not received any complaints since the exercise commenced over the weekend.
He said the distribution had so far proceeded without any reported security incidents or concerns.
Meanwhile, the police announced a restriction of movement across Osun State from 12 midnight on Friday as part of measures to prevent movement into and out of the state during the election.
The restriction is expected to remain in place as security agencies finalise preparations for Saturday’s poll.
