A coalition of opposition political parties is stepping up efforts to forge a common front against the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) ahead of the 2027 general elections.
The G100, which is spearheading the initiative, said it was planning a National Opposition Summit to develop a coordinated strategy for the opposition ahead of the polls.
The group disclosed this during a meeting with the Minority Caucus of the House of Representatives in Abuja.
Convener of the G100 initiative, Salihu Lukman, said opposition parties could only mount an effective challenge to the APC by working together.
He said the time had come for the various opposition groups to put aside their differences and unite around a common political objective.

The coalition comprises the African Democratic Congress (ADC), Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC), a faction of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Allied Peoples Movement (APM), Peoples Redemption Party (PRP) and Social Democratic Party (SDP).
Lukman said the planned summit would provide a platform for opposition parties and political actors to discuss strategies for presenting a united front in the 2027 election.
Responding, Minority Leader of the House of Representatives, Fred Agbedi, said opposition lawmakers had embraced the G100 initiative.
Agbedi assured that members of the Minority Caucus would work with the coalition to achieve its objective.
The latest move comes amid growing efforts by opposition parties to build alliances and consolidate their political strength ahead of the 2027 presidential and legislative elections.
