Ondo: Abducted 55-year-old man escapes from kidnappers’ den, two arrested

The Police Command in Ondo State says a 55-year-old man, Idowu Alade, who was abducted at Aroge Camp via Idoani in Ose Local Government Area of Ondo State, has escaped from the kidnappers’ den.
DSP Abayomi Jimoh, the command’s spokesperson, who said this in a statement on Tuesday in Akure, also confirmed the arrest of two suspects.
Jimoh explained that the victim was reportedly abducted on August 21 at about 6:00 p.m. after leaving his residence to purchase a recharge card.
The police spokesperson, who said the victim failed to return home, explained that members of the community commenced a search for him the following morning.
“Following a report at the Idoani Division, police operatives immediately mobilised to the scene in collaboration with personnel of Amotekun Corps, Ose Bravers Vigilante Group and local hunters.
“The joint security team subsequently commenced an intensive search and bush-combing operation to locate and rescue the victim.
“In a dramatic development, the victim escaped from the kidnappers’ hideout at about 4:00 a.m. on Aug. 23, while his captors were reportedly asleep and eventually emerged through the Ifira area.
“Acting on credible intelligence, security operatives promptly established contact with the victim, secured him and ensured necessary medical attention for his injuries allegedly sustained during the incident.
“A red alert was immediately placed across the axis, leading to the interception and arrest of two young men identified as Usman Shaibu, 25, and Sanni Musa, 27,” he said.
