First Lady Oluremi Tinubu has celebrated Mrs Victoria Gowon, wife of former Head of State, General Yakubu Gowon (retd.), on her 80th birthday.

In a congratulatory message, Tinubu joined General Gowon, family members, friends and loved ones in celebrating Victoria Gowon’s “Oak Jubilee”.

The First Lady described the former First Lady of Nigeria as a woman whose life has been defined by “grace, service, humility and strength.”

According to her, Victoria Gowon served Nigeria with dignity during her time as First Lady, particularly at a defining period in the country’s history.

Tinubu also commended her continued commitment to faith, family and the welfare of less privileged Nigerians.

“Your life has been an embodiment of grace, service, humility and strength,” the First Lady said.

She added, “As a former First Lady of Nigeria, you served our dear nation with dignity during a defining period in our history, while your enduring commitment to faith, family and the wellbeing of the less privileged has continued to touch many lives.”

Tinubu prayed for the celebrant to enjoy many more years in good health, peace, joy and happiness.

“I pray you celebrate many more years in divine health, peace, joy and happiness. Happy Birthday, Your Excellency!” she said.

Victoria Gowon served as Nigeria’s First Lady between 1966 and 1975 during the administration of her husband, General Yakubu Gowon.
