Oba Femi Defeats Brock Lesnar in Hell In A Cell Match At WWE SummerSlam

Nigerian professional wrestler Oba Femi claimed one of the biggest victories of his career after defeating former UFC and WWE champion Brock Lesnar in a brutal Hell in a Cell match at WWE SummerSlam on Saturday night.

The blockbuster contest at U.S. Bank Stadium in Minneapolis, Minnesota, marked Femi’s first appearance inside Hell in a Cell, with the Lagos-born superstar overcoming one of the most decorated competitors in WWE history.

Femi matched Lesnar blow for blow throughout the physically demanding encounter, surviving multiple German suplexes, a Tombstone onto exposed wooden boards beneath the ring and repeated attacks with steel steps before responding with two devastating chokeslams.

The decisive moment came when Lesnar attempted to use a steel chair, only for Femi to knock it from his hands with a stiff right hand before delivering his trademark Fall From Grace to seal the victory.

After the match, Lesnar embraced Femi, took the microphone and publicly endorsed the Nigerian wrestler, describing himself as the past and Femi as the future of WWE.

Reacting to the emotional moment, Femi admitted he was surprised by the gesture from his longtime rival.

“The hug and public endorsement was definitely a shock, and I didn’t see that coming.

“I know that deep down, Brock has always respected me, and he knows that deep down, I respect him as well,” Femi said.

The victory adds another major chapter to Femi’s remarkable 2026 campaign, having defeated Lesnar at WrestleMania 42 in April before capturing the King of the Ring tournament in June.

Their SummerSlam showdown concluded a bitter rivalry that began with Lesnar’s return from apparent retirement to attack Femi before defeating the Nigerian in their rematch at Clash in Italy.
