Not too late to arrest, prosecute IBB – Sowore

The presidential candidate of the African Action Congress, AAC, Omoyele Sowore, has said that it is not too late to arrest and prosecute for military Head of State, Ibrahim Badamosi Babangida for crimes committed under his ‘military dictatorship’.
Sowore made this assertion in a post on his verified X handle on Thursday.
His call came as the former military president celebrated his 85th birth anniversary.
The human rights activist said Former dictator of Chile, Augusto Pinochet, faced arrest and extensive legal proceedings in his 80s.
According to him, age did not automatically place him beyond the reach of accountability.
He said, “It is not too late to arrest and prosecute IBB. He is 85. His age should not confer immunity from justice.
“The unresolved killings, abuses, corruption, and other grave violations associated with his regime deserve proper investigation and, where the evidence supports it, prosecution.”
